Cleaning Process
Manual cleaning is required when the pressure differential, monitored via manometers, indicates that the filter is clogged. The cleaning process begins by shutting down the system and fully depressurizing the filter. Once depressurized, the filter cover is removed and the disc cartridge is extracted. The compression screw on the cartridge is loosened, allowing the discs to separate so that pressurized water can effectively clean the disc surfaces and remove accumulated contaminants. After cleaning, the discs are recompressed and reassembled, the cartridge is reinstalled, and the filter is securely closed. The system is then returned to service.
Working Principle
The filter operates by passing water through a stack of filtration discs. During operation, contaminants accumulate on the outer surface of the discs, gradually restricting the flow. This buildup creates a pressure differential between the filter inlet and outlet. To ensure proper and reliable performance, the filter must be cleaned once the pressure differential reaches 0.7 bar.
