Working Principle

Valve Closing Mode
The valve closes when the pilot system directs line pressure into the control chamber (the area above the diaphragm). This pressure, combined with the spring force, creates a downward force greater than the upward force of the line pressure. The resulting net force pushes the diaphragm downward, closing and sealing the valve.
Valve Opening Mode
To open the valve, the pilot system releases the pressure on the diaphragm, venting the control chamber. When the closing pressure is removed, the upstream line pressure is stronger than the downward force of the spring. It applies an upward force, lifting the diaphragm and fully opening the valve.
Modulating Mode
Modulation occurs when the valve is held in a partially open position to regulate pressure or flow. The pilot system accomplishes this by continuously adjusting the pressure in the control chamber. By balancing the upstream line pressure against the combined downstream forces of the chamber pressure and the spring, the diaphragm remains in an intermediate position, allowing the valve to maintain the desired downstream pressure or flow rate.

Advantages

Autonomous, Powerless Operation: Operates solely on the line's own hydraulic pressure; It requires no external electrical or pneumatic supply. This simplifies installation, minimizes operating costs, and ensures uninterrupted functionality even during power outages.

Versatile Multi-Function Control: Offers exceptional flexibility in system design by performing multiple functions, such as on/off control, pressure reduction, and flow modulation, all in a single, compact unit.

Stable Output Pressure: The sensitive pilot system provides protection for output components by maintaining a constant, desired output pressure regardless of fluctuations in input pressure or flow rate. Rugged Cast Iron Body: Constructed from heavy-duty cast iron for long-lasting performance and reliability under high pressure and harsh operating conditions. Built-in Safety Features: Automatically shuts off when no line pressure is present, preventing potential damage from dry running conditions and protecting pumps and connected systems.

Cast Control Valves

Unwavering Control for Critical Systems.

In complex water systems, precise and reliable control is not a luxury—it's a necessity. Our Cast Body Hydraulic Control Valves are engineered to provide this certainty, operating autonomously using only the energy of the line pressure itself. From simple on/off functions to complex pressure regulation and flow modulation, these valves are the versatile and robust core of your system, ideal for demanding applications in irrigation, municipal water lines, and industrial processes.
