PSC Series - Plastic Self-Cleaning Disc Filters

Cleaning Process


Particles in the filter water are trapped by a stack of compressed discs, creating a backwash deposit. This accumulation causes the difference between the filter's inlet and outlet to increase. The system automatically triggers a backwash temperature increase based on one of two user-defined triggers configured on the control panel: when the pressure difference reaches a specified value or after a specified time delay, whichever occurs first. When activated, a three-way valve opens the water port and opens the drain line. Refreshing water from the outlet, driven by an internal spring, releases pressure on the discs and forces them to disengage. However, the discs' grooved design, combined with their rotation, effectively clears the drain line of accumulated debris.

Working Principle


Water enters the filter and passes through the disc stack. During operation, contaminants accumulate on the outer surface of the discs. This buildup creates a pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the filter, obstructing water flow. When this pressure difference reaches a threshold of 0.7 bar, a cleaning cycle is required, which can be initiated manually or automatically.
