Yes. Aytok is a water filtration manufacturer based in Türkiye, with in-house design, engineering and production capabilities. Its product range includes automatic and manual screen and disc filters, semi-automatic screen filters, media filters, hydrocyclone separators, pump protection filters, control valves, control panels and fertigation equipment. Alongside individual products, Aytok manufactures complete filtration systems that combine these components to meet project-specific requirements.

Yes. Aytok develops custom water filtration solutions for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors, and system integrators. Engineering reviews can address flow capacity, operating pressure, water quality, body materials, flange specifications and installation space. The proposed configuration and scope of customization are established according to the project’s technical requirements.

Yes. Aytok manufactures individual filters and complete filtration assemblies, including chassis-mounted systems. Depending on the application, a system can combine screen filters, disc filters, media filters or hydrocyclones with manifolds, valves and controls. These assemblies support coordinated filtration for industrial process water, irrigation and pretreatment applications, with each stage selected around the source water and downstream equipment.

Filter Technologies & Product Selection

Automatic screen filters retain particles on a screen with a specified opening size. Automatic disc filters use stacked, grooved discs to create multiple filtration passages. Selection depends on the particle characteristics, source water, required filtration degree and cleaning conditions. Aytok manufactures both technologies for industrial and irrigation systems, allowing filter selection to match the contamination and equipment protection requirements.

Media filtration is often considered for water containing organic matter or mixed suspended contaminants that benefit from filtration through a media bed. It can be combined with screen or disc filters in a multistage treatment system. The appropriate arrangement depends on source water quality and downstream requirements, particularly in surface water treatment, agricultural irrigation and water reuse.

Selected Aytok automatic screen filter series offer filtration options ranging from 20 to 2,000 microns. Available ratings depend on the model and filter element. A micron (µm) is a unit of length used to express an opening size or filtration rating, while mesh describes the number of openings per linear inch of woven mesh. Wire diameter and weave affect the relationship between mesh and opening size, so selection should use the specified micron rating and element construction.

Aytok’s VDF, VHF and HDF series use hydraulic control, while VEF, EVF, EF, VBE and HBE use electronic control for automatic cleaning. Electronic control is different from an electric motor driving the cleaning mechanism: electronically controlled models can still use hydraulic movement for screen cleaning. Selection depends on the available power supply, operating pressure and required control functions. Motor-reducer cleaning is provided by the separate VRF and RF series.

The main advantage of Aytok’s VRF and RF series is their ability to perform automatic cleaning at operating pressures as low as 1 bar, thanks to a motor-reducer mechanism that drives the cleaning scanner’s rotational and forward-and-backward movements. This makes them particularly suitable for low-pressure installations, while also allowing their use at higher operating pressures within their specified range. Selection should consider flow rate, contaminant load, filtration rating and flushing discharge conditions.

P-HF is Aytok’s single-body plastic automatic screen filter series, while PD-HF uses a double-body arrangement. Both use glass-fibre-reinforced polyamide bodies and automatic screen cleaning. Their plastic construction provides an alternative to metal-bodied filters where corrosion exposure and equipment weight influence selection. Material compatibility, temperature and pressure limits should be checked against the actual water conditions.

Depending on the series, Aytok offers S235JR carbon steel and SS304L or SS316L stainless steel body options. Coated carbon steel bodies use electrostatic epoxy-polyester powder coating to help protect against corrosion. Materials are selected according to the water characteristics and the installation’s operating conditions.

Depending on the control configuration, cleaning starts automatically when the preset differential pressure (ΔP) is reached or the programmed time interval elapses, without operator intervention. Operators can also initiate a cleaning cycle when needed.

In automatic screen filters, opening the flushing valve creates a pressure differential at the suction nozzles. As the nozzles scan the screen surface, they draw off accumulated contaminants and carry them into the discharge line. Depending on the series, the scanning mechanism is driven hydraulically or by a motor-reducer. Filtration continues throughout cleaning when the required operating conditions are maintained.

In automatic disc filters, the disc stack is released so that backwash water can remove contaminants trapped between the discs. In multi-unit systems, filters are backwashed sequentially while the remaining units continue filtering. The flow and pressure available to the system during backwashing depend on the system design.

Yes. Aytok offers different filter sizes and parallel filtration arrangements for high-flow industrial and irrigation systems. Capacity is selected according to the required flow, filtration degree, water quality and available pressure. Where future expansion is anticipated, the manifold layout, connection points and control capacity can be designed to accommodate additional filter units.

Automatic filters capture particles within their selected filtration rating, reducing the solids load reaching downstream cartridge and bag filters. This upstream protection helps extend replacement intervals and lower consumable and maintenance costs. Actual savings depend on feedwater characteristics and operating conditions. Cartridge or bag filters remain in place where needed to meet the application’s final filtration requirements.

Industrial & Agricultural Applications

Cooling tower filtration removes suspended particles from circulating water to help limit deposits in heat exchangers, distribution systems and other components. Automatic side-stream filters provide ongoing particle removal while reducing routine manual filter cleaning. Mechanical filtration works alongside chemical treatment and the wider cooling water management programme, which also addresses dissolved minerals, corrosion and biological activity.

Full-flow filtration treats the entire flow passing through a selected point in the system. Side-stream filtration treats a portion of the circulating flow and returns the filtered water to the circuit. Both arrangements can be used in recirculating water systems. Selection depends on the equipment protection objectives, suspended particle load, available pressure and system layout.

Automatic filtration helps protect heat exchanger passages and spray nozzles by removing suspended particles that contribute to blockage and particulate fouling. The filtration degree should match the equipment manufacturer’s requirements and the contaminants present. In industrial cooling and process water systems, this can reduce particle-related cleaning interventions. Dissolved constituents responsible for scaling require separate water treatment measures.

Aytok filtration systems can be considered for particle removal in suitable facility water circuits serving data center cooling infrastructure, including cooling tower and heat exchanger applications. Selection must reflect the circuit’s water chemistry, materials, flow and equipment requirements. Direct-to-chip liquid cooling circuits, cold plates and coolant distribution units (CDUs) can have separate cleanliness and coolant compatibility requirements and require their own equipment-specific assessment.

Automatic filters capture particles within their selected filtration rating, reducing the suspended solids load reaching subsequent stages of reverse osmosis (RO) pretreatment. This helps protect cartridge filters and other pretreatment equipment. Filter placement, capacity and rating are selected according to feedwater characteristics and RO system requirements.

Pre-filtration removes larger particles and debris before water enters an ultrafiltration (UF) system, helping protect membrane modules and associated flow passages. The pre-filter’s rating and cleaning capacity should match the UF supplier’s requirements and the feedwater characteristics. This protective stage complements the membrane system’s own backwashing, chemical cleaning and other treatment processes.

River, lake and reservoir water may contain sand, silt, organic debris and seasonally varying levels of total suspended solids (TSS). Depending on the water characteristics, suitable solutions include gravel filters, screen filters, disc filters, hydrocyclone separators or multistage systems combining these technologies. Selection considers both TSS concentration and the size distribution and nature of the particles. A filter’s micron rating alone does not establish a guaranteed TSS removal percentage.

Aytok filtration equipment can provide a particle-removal stage in suitably designed wastewater reuse and reclaimed water systems. Applications include protecting irrigation emitters, process equipment and downstream treatment units from residual suspended solids. Selection depends on the upstream treatment process, TSS, particle characteristics and intended reuse. Mechanical filtration alone does not establish compliance with reuse requirements or replace necessary disinfection and treatment for dissolved contaminants.

Automatic filtration can form part of seawater desalination pretreatment by removing suspended particles before downstream treatment stages. Selection requires particular attention to chloride exposure, temperature and the compatibility of all wetted components. Standard stainless steel grades should not be assumed suitable for every seawater application. Body materials, internal components, seals and the complete pretreatment arrangement must be evaluated for the project’s operating conditions.

Automatic water filtration is relevant where suspended particles interfere with cooling, washing, spraying or downstream water treatment. Typical applications include cooling circuits in power generation and metal processing, membrane pretreatment in pulp and paper production, and nozzle protection in textile and manufacturing processes. Filter selection is based on the specific water circuit and equipment being protected. Product-contact and hygiene-critical duties require separate assessment.

Automatic filters and filtration systems remove suspended particles that can clog drip irrigation emitters, helping maintain consistent water distribution. Depending on the source water, gravel, screen or disc filters can be used individually or in combination. Filtration rating and capacity are selected according to the contaminant load, irrigation flow rate and emitter manufacturer’s requirements. Automatic cleaning regularly removes accumulated contaminants from the filters, reducing the need for manual cleaning.

Hydrocyclones use centrifugal force to separate sand and other solid particles that are denser than water. Installed upstream, they reduce the sand load reaching gravel, screen or disc filters, helping these filters operate more efficiently. Separation performance depends on particle size and density, operating flow rate and pressure conditions.

System Integration & Operation

Yes. A retrofit assessment establishes the appropriate filter configuration by reviewing flow, available pressure, pipe connections, water quality and control requirements. The installation must also provide suitable access for maintenance and an appropriate flushing discharge arrangement. These checks allow the filter to be integrated with the existing pumps, piping and downstream equipment.

Yes. Aytok’s Flushcore control panel can control up to 10 filter stations from a single unit without additional expansion cards or modules. It supports differential-pressure and time-based cleaning triggers, manual backwash, and AC/DC power options. Flushcore is designed for integration with control systems such as SCADA. The required communication interface, signals and supervisory functions should be confirmed during project engineering.

Automatic cleaning reduces routine manual cleaning, while periodic inspection helps maintain reliable operation. Depending on the model, maintenance includes checking the filter element, seals, cleaning mechanism, flushing valves and pressure-sensing components. Inspection intervals depend on water quality and operating conditions. Changes in differential pressure or cleaning frequency can indicate a need for maintenance or a change in the incoming contaminant load.

For an initial assessment, simply share your water source, required flow rate and intended application. For drip irrigation, the available operating pressure and the emitter manufacturer’s recommended filtration rating help guide selection.
